Develop Community Presence through Branding & Structure

 
 

Objective 1 | Increase number in community aware of the make health happen “brand”

  1. Develop promotional materials (decals, recipe cards, tag lines, introductory paragraphs) by fall 2019

  2. Identify community partners willing to display promotional materials and distribute by Spring 2020

  3. Post weekly on Facebook promoting partner activities/healthy living

  4. Ensure partners are tagging MHH in related social media posts

  5. Finalize and print Food Pantry Pocket Guide by January of 2020 and distribute community wide with focus on housing and community based centers

  6. Host a table at community events using branded table cloth and tent

  7. Maintain a consistent presence in the Monitor through bi-monthly ads

  8. Host annual spring Poster Contest with American Heart Association and increase participation by 5% annually through increased promotion

  9. Develop a promotional campaign of video clips of health happening within the community in spring 2020

  10. If funding is acquired, create MHH Billboard

 

Objective 2 | develop more formalized structure allowing for leveraging grant funding, allow for informal participation by summer 2020

  1. Steering Committee Develop parameters for defining official partners “membership” by fall of 2019

  2. Steering Committee Finalize By-Laws and structure by fall of 2019

  3. Develop tangible list of activities that can be supported without funding and list of projects/activities with funding

  4. Pursue 501c3 Federal Status

  5. Identify agencies to collaborate to apply for USDA Community Food Projects (CFP) Competitive Grants Program or Planning Project Grant

  1. Increase school breakfast participation and awareness of breakfast after the bell

  2. Develop Make Health Happen Designated Churches

  3. Increase number of Food Pantries offering and promoting healthy fresh foods

  4. Identify opportunities for urban agriculture and promotion of growing food. Promote policies that support such land use.
